Object-specific actions let users quickly create or update records, create contact from account, create account from Opportunity, log calls, send emails, and more, in the context of a particular object.
Tutorial
Step 1 – Create an action
Go to Set up -> Object Manager -> Find Account Object -> Go to Buttons, Links, and Actions -> click New Action and create an Action -> Click Save. As shown in below screenshot.
Drag and drop necessary field -> Click Save. As shown in the below screenshot.
Step 2- Add an Action to Account Page Layout
After creating an action, you need to add to the page layout.
Go to Object Manager -> Find Account -> Page Layout -> Open Layout -> Drag and Drop New Contact -> Click Save. As shown in the screenshot below.
Result
Finally, you can see the Action on Account page as shown below.
Note : Supported Objects
When you create an object-specific action, you can choose as a target object an event, a task, or any object that has a parent-child or lookup relationship to the host object. You can’t choose Quote as a target object from Opportunity. However, you can still create quotes from an opportunity by going to the opportunity’s Quotes related list and clicking New.
